‘A Visit to Explore the Miike Coal Mine’ is an application (officially certified by Fukuoka Prefecture) that features a tour around the Miyanohara Pit and Miike Port, just as though you are playing a game. It provides detailed information on the history of the Miike Coal Mine and the lifestyle of its miners in the past.
And at ‘Mikawa Pit Image Library’, you can view photos of those times and watch video interviews of former miners.

■ Find Burning Stones!!
As you make your tour around the Miyanohara Pit and Miike Port, you search for places where virtual burning stones (coal) are hidden. When you find them, you can watch coal-related stories. The stones are hidden in a total of five places. Find all of them and you can watch a bonus clip.

■ Mikawa Pit Image Library
This is a library of photos from the Showa Era (1926-1989) of the Miike Coal Mine’s main pit, the Mikawa Pit. You can also watch interview clips of miners who used to work there and a miner’s wife talking about the kind of life they led when the mine was in operation.
